Venue requirements

Performing and teachig solo flyweight chains requires an indoor venue, or an outdoor aerial rig, that meets one of the following two specifications.

Either:

Two rigging points that are:

  • each rated to at least 1 tonne
  • accessible so that a sling can be wrapped around them, or a carabiner can be attached
  • anywhere between 1.8 and 4 metres apart, and approximately centered above a minimum stage area of 6 metres wide and 4 metres deep
  • at a height of
    • at least 5 metres above the stage if the points are 1.8 to 2 metres apart
    • at least 6 metres above the stage if the points are 2 to 3 metres apart
    • at least 7 metres above the stage if the points are 3 to 4 metres apart

There must be an unobstructed ground area of at least4x6 metres below the rigging points

Or:

One rigging point that is

  • rated to at least 2 tonne
  • accessible so that a sling can be wrapped around it, or a carabiner can be attached
  • at a minimum height of 8 metres

There must be an unobstructed ground area of at least 6×6 metres below the rigging point

 

Inspection by a structural engineer, or certified rigger, may be required to assess venue suitability.
